White River 4-Mile Classic

Train For 4 Program

The White River 4 Mile Classic Road Race will be celebrating its 33rd running this year on August 6th. The race is one of the many events held in conjunction with the White River Carnival.

The White River RoadRunners are initiating their annual “Train for Four” training program for this year’s race. Beginning on Saturday, June, 4th, the club will hold weekly training sessions for anyone wanting to train for and participate in the race. At the initial training session participants will be broke out into pace groups based on running experience and time goals. Each participant will receive a training plan to follow during the next eight weeks leading up to the race. At the Saturday morning training sessions everyone will get together for training progress updates, individual/specific training, and group runs to prepare for the race. Other group runs and training sessions will be scheduled during the week if participants want to train together.

By completing the nine week training plan, The “Train for Four” program will prepare new runners to complete the race within a 1 hour time period. It will help those with some running experience to complete the race in a 40 to 60 minute time period. The Program will begin at 8:00 am, Saturday, June 5th, at the Batesville High School track.
