2010 White River Roadrunners Race Series

      The White River Roadrunners Club is initiating the second annual WRR Race Series for 2010. The series will consist of the seven local Batesville races and two races in nearby towns that are scheduled for this year.

Penguin 5K/10K (the 10k will be the race scored for the WRRR Race Series)(February 27) (RESULTS)
1040 Tax Run 5K (April 17) (RESULTS)
Take The Lake 5k (April 24) (RESULTS)
Pioneer Day 5k (May 1) (RESULTS)
WRMC 5K (May 15) (RESULTS)
Army National Guard 5k (July 10) (RESULTS)
4-Mile Classic (August 7) (RESULTS)
Sara Low Memorial 5K (September 11)
Run Wild for A Child (November 6)

Rules and Organization:

  1. No registrationrequired for WRRR club members and Independence County participants. All runners/walkers that participate in the series' races will automatically be entered in the series. Other runners from surrounding areas are welcome and will be asked to register for the series when they sign up on race day.
  2. No Entry fee. The series is being sponsored by the WRRR club.
  3. A race series technical shirt will be available for approximately $10 during a sign-up period in January.

Scoring:

Overall male/female - three deep
10 year age groups except for youth(0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 plus) - awards three deep male/female

Participant must complete four races to be eligible to receive year-end awards.

Walkers will not be scored separatly, they will be included as part of the running categories.

Participants will be scored in six races. If a runner completes all nine races the three lowest scores will be dropped from their total.

Score 10 places in each age group for each race - perfect score 60
o 1st - 10 points
o 2nd - 9 points
o 3rd - 8 points
o 4th - 7 points
o 5th - 6 points
o 6th - 5 points
o 7th - 4 points
o 8th - 3 points
o 9th - 2 points
o 10th place and lower - 1 point

Club timing system personnel will create spreadsheet and tabulate standings from official race results. Scoring will be updated after each race and posted on WRR website.

Series Finisher Medals to participants completing all nine races.

Awards will be presented to overall and age group winners after completion of the last race in November at a club meeting/awards ceremony.
