10th White River Water Carnival 4-Mile Classic

Batesville's Brian Baker wins 10th White River Classic Race

On his fourth try, Batesville's Brian Baker won the 10th Annual White River Classic 4-Mile run. Baker fought through heat and humidity to post his best performance ever - a time of 21:09. That's 32 seconds faster than his time last year, and was also a full minute ahead of second-place finisher John Gross of Little Rock. Gross' second-place effort put him at the top of the men's 25-29 age group.

Tatum Simon, a Batesville High teammate of Baker's, was the first finisher in the women's division, crossing the line with a time of 27:13. Alisa Hook, another BHS runner, was second with a time of 33:24.
