Brian Baker smashes Classic run record

One of the White River Classic 4-mile champions keeps winning and the other has never lost. Brian Baker won his third straight men's division title in a record-smashing time of 20 minutes, six seconds. Chris Zinn held the previous record, running 20:31 in 1985.
Angie Heringer, who last won here in 1984, was the first woman to cross the finish line. The former Angie Pikschus of Southside, who now lives in Jonesboro, has participated in the annual event five times, and she has won five times. Heringer, 28, completed the cours in 25:21. Her time in 1984, the first year the race was reduced to four miles, was 23:56.
