Runner from Iowa surprised by his historic turn
in Classic

The White River Classic 4-Mile Run and Walk added two new names to its list of champions, and one of them marveled at his part in a historical turn. Jeff Joiner, a senior and a runner for the University of Northern Iowa Panthers cross country and track team was the overall male finisher with a time of 21 minutes, 3 seconds. The women's title was won by another out-of-state runner with little knowledge of the event. Mindy Hunsucker, 16, of West Plains, MO., crossed the finish line in 27 minutes, 2 seconds.
