By Paul Glover of the Guard Staff
Two new champions were crowned Saturday morning in the White River Classic 4-mile Road Race, but they're not new to Batesville folks familiar with local sports. Darren Gilpin won the men's overall title with a time of 22:54. Gilpin, 31, is a Mountain Home native that ran for Lyon College's cross country team in the '80s. He graduated from Lyon in 1988. Vicki Ezwell won the women's title with a time of 29 minutes. The 24-year-old Batesville native ran for Batesville High Lady Pioneer cross country and track teams before graduating in '92..
