WRA 5K Results, Batesville clinic runners

Below are age group, overall and Mother/Daughter results for the 2013 Women Run Arkansas-Batesville clinic participants at the May 11, 2013, race in Conway. Click for the full archive of results at Women Run Arkansas.

We are proud of all of our 28 runners, 5 walkers, and 10 leaders at the race, with special recognition for runners Clara Nikkel, who won the youngest age group, and Caliene Coop, who won the oldest. Caliene, 76, was the older of only two runners 75+ (both listed below), and so the oldest runner in the total field of more than 2,000. (Four walkers were older.) Gina Mohlke finished second in her age group, with that first-place runner in the top 10 overall in the field. Dana Dowell, who has been at the front of our Magic Miles, was among those caught in walker traffic at the start and finished 106th overall, well behind her usual pace. She would normally have been near Kandi Tosh (37th overall) and Gina Mohlke (40th). The race had 15 age divisions, with Cabot taking 4 firsts and Batesville, Conway, and Hot Springs taking 2 each.

We had two Mother/Daughter teams (Kandi/Kady Tosh, Phyllis Harmon/Brooke Carter) and three pairs who did not enter as teams (Amanda/Clara Nikkel, Dana Dowell/Cassie Swaim, Kathy Stobaugh/Katrina Pulliam). Team entries are listed and I have compiled non-team results and compared them to the closest finishing team to indicate where they would have placed. Had the start been kinder to Dana, she and Cassie would likely have been in contention for third as a team.
